Read three books:

chewchew  Little PeaIfElephantsWorePants
Chew, chew, gulp! by Lauren Thompson
Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
If elephants wore pants by Henriette Barkow

And:

Action Rhyme – “Popcorn” (from a fellow librarian)
“You put the oil in the pot and you make it real hot” (hold out arm like a kettle and pour in oil)
“You put the kernels in and begin to grin!” (same actions, but add kernels and grin)
“Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, POP!” (rub hands together for sizzle, clap for POP)

Flannelboard Rhyme: “One Elephant Went Out to Play” (Storytime Katie)
One elephant went out to play
Upon a spider’s web one day
He had such enormous fun
He called another elephant to come!
HEY ELEPHANT!! (kids helped call the elephants)

For our iPad time, we used a coloring app and colored in elephants!
We had 38 people visit us for this storytime, and the room was packed.  Luckily the kiddos were excellent at sharing!
